Slipdresses

You may not know this about me,

but  as an adolescent, when I was first starting to sew, I would cut apart different items of clothing  

and created a mishmash-Frankenstein-assemblage wardrobe.

Recently I discovered a clothing brand called HAPPY ENDING made by 2 people in Southern California. ( @happyendinghollywood on IG ) that really reminds me of what I used to make mixed w/ what I like to wear these days, which is: Slipdresses, fishnets, leather jackets and knee high boots.

This discovery led me to decide to spend more time researching slip / slipdress designs in order to PLAN which to chop & amalgamate without Destroying perfectly good slips in the process.

(Which is something I used to do no problem. Now I actually respect my clothes. I just want to make most of my short slips Long, but in a pleasing way, not so random chop chop)

I like what used to be called Fat or Phat Pants --these would be called
Fat Slacks I guess--I own some but never wear them, probably because

they would catch in my bike gears.

Bringing back the collared shirt-under-pullover at long last. It's the look I recall skater boys in 1998 used to wear - along w/ fat pants, ball chain necklaces & leopard print shaved heads.

Stiff PVC minidress w. lacey neckline, box ostrich handbag, oversized knit sweater, powder blue scalloped slip under it all

Formless new take on the Trench --no more cinched, belted waist, thin turtleneck, sheer calf-length skirt w/ metallic stripe, patent pointy-toed flats w/ ankle strap

Ochre plasticky slacks w/ fly + slit ankles, sheer, frilly camisole worn over same thin turtleneck---Another 90s fad if my memory's not fading..

Unusual cut of fur cropped Overcoat worn over b&w Plaid coat

There's that turtleneck again, now in muted red, under a mid-calf slipdress & off-putting dirty ochre Peacoat. Something Miu Miu-esque about it.

PVC skinny pants, kitten pointy-toed Mules, dropped-waisted belted navy trench w/ turtleneck underneath like some kind of Steve McQueen:

Pjamas day suit w/ lace 'skirt' overlay.

Tisci seems a little scattered for this year. This pjama-suit was the best idea I saw.

Sweatshirt-Dress w/ asymmetrical hem. 

Studded ankle booties w/ fat tongue.

Flowery Bomber, lace&silk slipdress, matching socks & square-toe brogues.

This is pretty damn ugly. I like the colourful sock idea (a Lbs Sock post is approaching). The bomber is getting tired & this slip looks like a bad thrift store find (I'm not knocking thrift stores btw).

Givenchy - spring 2016

I get the 'dark boudoir' concept, but it still seems uninspired & messy.

These were the 'coolest' shoes in the whole show: tasseled mules.
